  • The Furthest Waves Lonesome Coast Surf Guitars are manufactured in California and built in California.

    Our guitar bodies and necks are manufactured by Wildwood Manufacturing in Arcata, California.

    We work with a professional wood worker to paint and finish our guitars.

    Our guitars are built in Sonoma County, California.

    We work with two sets of guitar builders and professionals. Jason Villa has guided us with the designs and manufactured the builds and early prototypes.

    As we have grown in size we have tapped the expertise of Steve Shirrell and his team at Stanroy Music Center in Santa Rosa, California. Steve has been instrumental in making sure this guitar is innovative and solving the age old challenges of smaller sized guitars. Steve and his talented team: Gabe, Damian, and Magus at Stanroy Music Center are expertly building the guitars.

    • 24” Scale Length

    • 22 Frets

  • The neck is a C-shape carve profile.

    The radius is a 12” Constant Radius.

  • The Alder body’s guitar’s weight varies from 5.9 lbs. - 6.3 lbs.

    The Mahogany body’s guitar weight is 7.4 lbs.

  • We offer two guitar body options:

    • Alder

    • Mahogany

    The neck and fretboard come in three options:

    • Maple/Maple

    • Rosewood/Maple

    • Rosewood/Mahogany (only available with the Mahogany body)

  • This custom guitar is comprised of high quality parts in every respect:

    • Custom California-made Humbucker Pickups (dual-coil)

    • Push/Pull pots with coil splitting or coil tapping to capture the sound of both single coil pickups, humbucker pickups, or a hybrid of both

    • String Through Gotoh Bridge

    • Gotoh Schaller-style Knob Tuners

    • Gotoh String Retainers

    • D’Addario Strings

    • Nut material - Micarta or Brass

    • Our first run of guitars are being manufactured in a limited run. We reserve the right to make adjustments due to supply availability and recommendations from our builders. We will work to make improvements and modifications to the guitars as we are building the Furthest Waves brand.

  • The guitars are entering the market in a limited run in early 2026. We are currently accepting orders. For questions and order inquiries contact furthestwaves@gmail.com.

  • Shipping | Pickup Option

    We offer shipping through FedEx in the continental USA.

    We offer free local pickup in Sonoma County in the town of Sebastopol.

    Custom Build Acknowledgment

    All instruments produced by Furthest Waves LLC are built to order and customized to the purchaser’s selected specifications.

    By placing an order, the purchaser acknowledges that:

    • The instrument is a custom-built product.

    • Wood grain, figure, and natural variation will differ from sample photos.

    • Minor aesthetic differences are inherent to handcrafted instruments.

    All Sales Final

    Because each instrument is custom-built to order:

    • All sales are final.

    • We do not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds once production has begun. However, we stand our guitars with our Limited Warranty.

    • Personal preference (tone, feel, weight, aesthetics) does not constitute a defect.

    Payment Terms

    Full payment is required at the time of purchase:

    • Production begins once deposit is received.  Guitars are typically ready within 3-4 weeks, variations may apply.  Guitars will be shipped or delivered per the terms agreed upon at the time of ordering.

    • By submitting payment, the purchaser agrees to the Limited Warranty and Custom Order Terms.

  • At Furthest Waves customer satisfaction is what our brand is built on. We are dedicated to delivering a quality, California manufactured and built guitar.   • We are a small California guitar manufacturer dedicated to quality guitars.  We are committed to customer satisfaction, if you would like to see or test one of our guitars prior to purchasing please reach out to us. 

    All orders have a custom selection for the wood, color or neutral, and neck choice.  All orders are custom thus making all sales final with a limited warranty to the original purchaser.

  • Yes, we are working on a more affordable and accessible "student series" because we believe everyone should have access to a high quality, lightweight, nimble electric guitar like the Furthest Waves Surf Guitar.

    We are working diligently to connect with local Universities, mentors, manufacturers and potential distribution outlets to try and make this happen as soon as possible. We want to provide an instrument that helps everyone's voice be heard.

  • California Proposition 65 - “Right to Know” Law

    • California’s Proposition 65 entitles California consumers to special warnings for products that contain ingredients known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm if those products expose consumers to such chemicals above certain threshold levels.

    • Out of care for our customers and consumer safety we are complying with the California law to disclose a warning. These chemicals may be of no significant risk to you, this information is to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
